Customized full day tour of the Old City We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Old City with the guide arranged by Locally Istanbul. She was very knowledgeable about both historical and contemporary Istanbul, flexible to our preferences, and fun to spend the day with. We customized the Old City tour to see the sites we hadn’t already seen. A full day tour provided time to do some intensive site seeing in the morning and early afternoon, a leisurely lunch with our guide at an excellent restaurant which she recommended, and some shopping at a few places she knew well.

Wonderful: Highlight of our Turkey Trip Our two Locally Istanbul tours were the highlight of our 10-day stay in Turkey. Wandering the streets of Istanbul with Umit and Evrim felt like spending the day with close friends sharing secrets of their hometown. This is not your trite, rehearsed tour with a script. Every twist and turn was engaging, bespoke, genuine and fun. We did the Bohemian tour and the historic tour of the old city monuments and both were outstanding in very different ways. I have literally traveled the world, and cannot recommend Locally Istanbul enough. We will definitely call them when we return.

The Best Tour Guides Ever!! Wow what an amazing stay we had in Istanbul all thanks to Erk and Umit at Locally Istanbul. We were in Istanbul for only 48hrs for a work trip and they made sure every moment we had free we were getting around and seeing the sights. They have such a wealth of knowledge about Istanbul and its culture, any questions we asked they knew the answer to. If you are looking to experience the true culture of Istanbul; its food, history, etc. then you need to book a tour with Locally Istanbul. Authentic, Informative, Fun — DO IT. We had a bespoke tour of the Bohemian side with Erk and it was lovely. He made sure to teach us a lot about Turkish culture and what life is like in Istanbul. It felt authentic versus cheesy and contrived. We already want to go back and do more of the tours Locally Istanbul offers. Thanks for a great time Erk!

Amazing day with Umit and Zafer! I recently used Locally Istanbul for two days while on an overnight cruise ship stop. There were two guides Umit and Zafer. I can not speak more highly of them both. They both were waiting as I disembarked the ship and I had an amazing and informative day planned around Istanbul. The Istanbul visit could have not been any better. I will use Locally Istanbul again on my next visit!

AMAZING guides in Istanbul ! They are a must if you want to do Istanbul right!!!!! Locally Istanbul MADE our trip. They created such a phenomenal experience for us and I could not recommend them more. Both Erk and Ümit were super easygoing and easy to be around, knowledgeable and fun. Along our tours they pointed out some cool cultural things that would have otherwise gone unnoticed for the remainder of our 2 weeks. The tours we had with Locally Istanbul were professional, and they came well prepared and with high energy and genuine enthusiasm. We felt like we were with knowledgeable local friends, not stiff tour guides. We loved them & would recommend them to anyone!

Fantastic street food walking tour through backstreets of Istanbul This is my second time with Ümit on the ‘Bohemian side” walking tour and I can’t recommend him enough. He tailors the tour to your needs and interests, tunes in very quickly with the group (in 2019 we were a family of 4 and this time 10 people from all around the world), and provides you with an unforgettable experience. We focused on street food this time combined with historical details about this fascinating city. The initially planned 4 hours quickly turned into 5 and had it not been so incredibly hot we would have continued further. Highly recommendable for those who want to explore Istanbul on foot and via food.

Fantastic private tours in Istanbul We just returned from a cruise that gave us two days in Istanbul. We worked with Erk from Locally Istanbul who arranged both days of tours for our small group. Our first day was with Evrim who took us all over the Old City including the Spice Market. Here she introduced us to her favorite shop & we were treated so kindly with lots of tasting! We loved exploring this part of the city with her & visiting the mosques & the palace. We didn’t sit down until we got to our private Bosphorus cruise. The entire day was amazing! Our next day we spent with Erk who took us through many of the neighborhoods. With that, we were able to enjoy stops along the way & try so many delicious street foods. In addition to these stops, Erk took us to a local restaurant for lunch that was amazing! It was Michelin recommended without the expensive costs. We ended the day near our cruise ship for dessert. The baklava he had us try was incredible, but the ice cream & chocolate mousse we haven’t stopped talking about! I can’t get over how amazing it all was. Both days were perfect. If only we had another day!l!

Amazing Private Tour Experience! Must do! I had an amazing one-on-one private tour with Ümit around the Bohemian side of the city. The knowledge he had to share about the city, history of the country, politics, and religion as we wandered around the city was astounding. I am so glad I reached out to Ümit and Erk. I was able to learn so much about the city and country that I would never have learned. I would highly recommend them when visiting Istanbul!
